Hall of Fame Banquet Class of 2022
Honoring Bruce Vaughan
The Kansas Golf Foundation will be inducting Bruce Vaughan into the Kansas Golf Hall of Fame on October 21, 2022 at Prairie Dunes Country Club.
The Kansas Golf Hall of Fame was founded in 1991 to honor men and women who have made outstanding contributions to golf in Kansas. Past inductees include KS golf greats like Tom Watson, Wally Beets, Frank Kirk, Ross Randall, Marge Page, and Jim Colbert. Categories of Hall of Fame members are: Amateur Player, Professional Player, Club Professional, Golf Course Superintendent, Coach, and Contributor to the Game.
Welcoming Bruce's family, friends, and supporters, the event will honor his achievements in the category of Professional Player.
Born in Illinois, Vaughan moved to Kansas and attended Larned High School but wasn’t good enough to make the high school golf team. He honed his skills and became a professional golfer in 1990, proceeding to play on the Nationwide Tour, PGA Tour, and South African Tour. He took home three first place trophies in 1994, including the Mount Edgecombe Trophy played in South Africa, where he was the first American to win the event. In 2007, Vaughn qualified for the PGA Tour Champions and went on to win the Senior British Open the following year at Royal Troon in a playoff. Vaughan, who lives in Hutchinson, has played in over 125 professional events and continues to play at his home course Prairie Dunes Country Club.
We look forward to celebrating Bruce and his important mark on Kansas golf history.
